16x20" - Oil on canvas. Buddy (lovingly known as Papa) was a very dear man to me. He was the grandfather to several of my friends since childhood, so I was trepidatious but honored when asked to paint his portrait. I was very close to him and loved him as my own grandfather. His arms were bruised in this picture from bruising in the hospital stays he endured before this picture was taken. He died nine days later. I will see him again one day.

I was a very long time neighbor and friend of Buddy .You nailed him on your portrait. It brought tears to my eyes to see the beautiful portrait you did of him worshiping his God that he loved so much.Buddy was a one-of-a-kind man that is sorely missed. The world needs more Buddys.Bless you for capturing his sweet spirit on canvas.Gail Briggs
What an awesome painting and a touching tribute to this man. Congratulations!
What a nice portrait. You get a nice sense of feeling for him, he's sitting so relaxed and reading his book.
Again, I say THANK YOU. I am very proud of what you did, and I hope you are too. It is indescribable...
Very emotional to see the bruised arms that Buddy got in the hospital. Recently I lost my Dad and seeing this beautiful portrait brought back those memories! Congratulations on this amazing portrait....well done.!
Wow!!!Outstanding portrait work!
Hi Steve - Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog :0)
It blows me away that you see anything in my own art, when you are creating paintings like this! I am stunned by your paintings and if I lived anywhere near I'd be asking for some lessons!! :0)
